LANDBACK.Art - NDN Collective x For Freedoms x INDÍGENA

LANDBACK.Art is a billboard campaign across North America to broaden support for the LANDBACK movement. We invited over 20 Indigenous artists, community members, and their allies to illustrate their answer to “What does land back mean to you?” on billboards placed in communities currently fighting for Indigenous rights and the protection of Native land.

In tandem with our billboards debuting November 2021 during Native American Heritage month, LANDBACK.Art hosted conversations with featured billboard artists as they share their own narratives and wisdom on the fight for LANDBACK and its significance to their communities. We hope that LANDBACK.Art brings these narratives to the forefront and will inspire artists, activists, and allies to work toward dismantling and defunding systems of colonial violence, invest in Indigenous communities, and return the land to Indigenous hands.

We placed billboards from Los Angeles to New York City, celebrating Indigenous voices and creating dialogue to grow the LANDBACK Movement.
